This was interesting. The animation creates the fan. The comic keeps the fan engaged. That’s a pretty compelling ecosystem.

Decided to check out this website through Comic Review Roundup, totally unaware it was a Substack blog.

This is a really good post that relates to some stuff that's been on my mind with Invincible.

I wanted to pitch and write a piece on how the Invincible fandom (specifically those who read the comic from the beginning) should take a note from manga readers and know when to shut up regarding details about future events in the comic. Unless someone asks for details, there are plently of people who want to discuss and speculate on the series from a TV-only perspective, and that's something at least half of anime nerds have to come to understand.

I feel it's important to discuss since this is the first of its kind (an adaptation of a comic series that follows the events of its source material, superhero or otherwise) and it won't be the last. Something Is Killing the Children might get an animated series due to recent news, and that's another one that is probably going to be of a similar stripe.
